New Humanitarian Project: Durham Elementary

The 429 Serve Team was contacted by Durham Elementary to partner with them in making their school a better place for their students. Durham Elementary has had a very difficult 3 years and they are now on our 4th principal in this very short time span. With their new principal, they are ready to turn this school around!

It is unfortunate that they cannot garner enough support from within the school, as Durham is inside Shepherd Park Plaza where the average home price is $300K and above, but Durham is on the border of SPP and it draws the majority of children from the low-income neighborhoods. Many of the low-income parents do not have time to help with school activities, as they are busy focusing on working to provide for their families.

The 429 Serve Team is very grateful and excited for this new partnership with Durham as we give of our time and service towards making this school even better.
